    "The Pedestrian" is one of Ray Bradbury's famous short stories. In the work, Mr. Leonard Mead takes a nightly walk, although this habit has been abandoned by those around him, as people remain. “Field studies conducted in this TCRP/NCHRP project found pedestrian crossing flags in Salt Lake City and Kirkland to be moderately effective. The study sites with crossing flags had motorist yielding rates that ranged from 46 to 79 percent, with an average of 65 percent compliance.

    TCRP/NCHRP project. Pedestrian crossing data were collected at 42 study sites in seven states.
